Red glimmer paper in a masculine card! And a glimmer brad too

I had just received my Stampin' Up order with a package of the new red glimmer paper (only $3.95 for 2 big 12 x 12 sheets) and wanted to use it on a masculine birthday card for my son....I haven't seen many masculine cards for a 22 yr old male with the red glimmer paper, or much bling either....and I had some glimmer brads I wanted to use (a round box of them is $4.95)....So this card was a challenge....I played with them and this is a closeup of part of the masculine birthday card I made...

My son has always loved airplanes so I just had to use this Plane & Simple stamp set
(clear stamp set is $16.95), and wanted to use black and vanilla/white with the red....after stamping the plane with white craft/pigment ink on black cardstock, I embossed a piece of this designer paper ($9.95) with the square lattice embossing folder - after all, you can use the newsprint designer series paper with almost any color, right?  And I thought it would make the card more masculine, since I was using the red glimmer paper.
And here is the card I made - I thought it looked masculine enough, and would appeal to someone who liked planes....And my husband agreed - yay!  I used crumbcake cardstock for the card and even used real red taffeta ribbon along with the black glimmer brad.

Here is a closeup of the white plane.
I sponged white ink around the plane so it would give the effect of flying in the clouds....!

In this picture of the card, I think the plane looks more like it is "in the clouds..."
I had several other attempts at the cloud effect, but I didn't like any of them.
However,  this one my husband and I both liked.
Here's a scanned version of the plane card, and you can see the embossing on the newsprint background.  But the red glimmer paper doesn't look as sparkly as it does in the previous pictures (that I took with my basic digital camera)
Okay, now for your opinion - do you think this card is masculine blingy but not too blingy?  And that a 22 yr old guy would like it?
Or would he say he liked it just because his mom made it?!!
Thanks for letting me know what you think!
