Snow?! in OUR yard? Bow technique class

This week we had an unusual weather surprise and not one we have seen in our neighborhood since we have been living here in Mesa, AZ...a little bit of cold enough weather to give us some wet mushy snow!  Our front lawn was definitely covered with that white stuff...

You can see it a little on our truck even though it was night-time...

Can you see my footstep in the snow in this picture?

The next morning it was totally gone but a little farther north of us they got much more....more than they usually see during the winter and there were quite a few accidents due to the snow.  Our dogs were not interested in the wetness at all, but if it was fluffy, I think my Inu would have tried to catch it!

Here are some more cards done for a class this month where we focused on different kinds of bows.  All of the products used are current Stampin Up, except for the velvet ribbon bow and black lace in the two-tone bow.

Whimsical cards; roses

I made up three cards for my neighborhood ladies' cardmaking group this past week.  I had some retired Stampin Up products and non-Stampin Up items I wanted to use, along with some current Stampin Up products.

This pretty house card used Faux Patina technique after it was embossed and white colored pencil highlighting on crumbcake cardstock.  It was very elegant!

I used Coredinations' whitewash cardstock to emboss and sand this oriental lady - the Stampin Up sanding block and wiping rag came in very handy to do a perfect job of sanding!
I love copper colors and used some retired copper cardstock for this - the 3 southwestern images were heat embossed with copper power.  The framelit behind them was from Stampin Up - the framelits they have now are so beautiful to set off your images.

I took a couple pictures of the gorgeous roses I received from my hubby for Valentine's Day!

I really like the faux patina technique and plan on using that for this weekend's swap cards. I will be posting more pictures of it step by step using all current Stampin Up products.

Valentine cards are so much fun to make - why don't you join us?  Here are some guidelines:
  • You may flip or rotate the card sketch, change or replace the shapes, but please make sure the general layout is recognizable.
  • Share a direct link to your creation, not just your blog, using the InLinkz feature at the end of this post. If InLinkz is down, please add a link with your comment.
  • If you don't have a blog, don't worry!  You can still use inLinkz by linking to your photo posted on Facebook or a similar social media site.
  • The Paper Craft Crew Design Team are Stampin' Up! Demonstrators and as such, we would like to see a minimum of 2 Stampin' Up! products or stamped images used on your card but don't let that stop you from participating.
  • Only those individuals that have at least 2 Stampin' Up! products or stamped images are eligible for any blog candy that may be offered along with being a "featured participant."
  • When uploading to online galleries, please use keyword PCCCS029.

Feb card class photos

Wanted to share some pictures from my monthly cardmaking class this past weekend...Here are the 3 cards we made.  Everyone got a Valentine's Day treat bag with candies.  Maybe being able to see what was inside and anticipating the yumminess made them work faster, because almost everyone got done much sooner than they normally do!

Since one of the cards was a chalkboard technique card, I set up a little table where they could do this technique and made a little chalkboard technique cheat board - see here?  Everyone loved doing this and none of the embossing powder got spilled or anything!  I really like that I can just erase my instructions and reuse the slate LOL

I made coconut macaroons with little hearts on them to eat, along with dark chocolate M & M's...

My furbaby Inu was hoping I would leave out some of the refreshments so she could check them out (again)...but she was a bad girl and figured out she could get on the top of our sofa and lean over it to eat 3 of my chocolate hazelnut pirouettes...So I didn't have enough for everyone to have one and had to put them up.  Guess that is one of the side hazards of having a smart dog agility dog...ha ha
Doesn't she look guilty here?!

My family grandmother (doll) came to my class too and met some friends!

Everyone always likes to check out my Stampin Up card tree - love that it holds so many cards!

See now the other furbaby Tootsi is following Inu around hoping she might get some crumbs!

Valentine napkins and my new little owl...(to use with my new Origami Owl brochures - check out my Origami Owl store on the left side of my blog OK? I made a dog living locket for myself!!)

And my mini-rose bloomed just in time for Valentine's Day!
If you place a Stampin Up order with me, you can get one of my handmade cards!  Better yet, buy what you need to make several of these cards in different colors!
