Easter projects class with petal cone diecut

Since Easter is only a month away, I designed 2 Easter projects that the class can make that would match each other - a card and petal cone.
I used Stampin' Up's petal cone diecut with blushing bride paper from the Patterns designer series paper stack, and decorated it with melon mambo pompom trim and SaleABration's Ice Cream Parlor designer series paper and ribbon.  A scrap of contrasting paper was cut for the scallop half-circle piece for the "front" of the cone.

Class participants will now have a choice - to either make the carrot from the petal cone diecut, or a flower cone!!

An Easter jellybean treat bag - transformed!

In my earlier post where I showed the carrots made from Stampin' Up's petal cone diecut, you might have seen the bunny treat bags I made at the same time....lots of them!

Iris folding cards; Easter purse card and hat; fancy fold card

I have been intrigued by the Iris Folded technique, but never tried it on my own - just looked at pictures and directions on how to do it.  It seemed simple enough...but I finally got to learn how to do the iris folded technique with some ladies who had done it before, so I had lots of help!   Here are the 3 cards we made.

Spring blossoms card with inlaid embossing - details/tutorial

What a great neighbor we have!  This weekend she brought over homemade cookies for us YUM!!  This is the second time she has done this - so I just had to make a card for her.

And I was able to combine a Sudsol design challenge and swap cards as well. That has got to be a first for me - fulfilling 3 needs with one card...Well, actually I ended up making 3 cards and loved all 3 of them.

Lots of carrots made using petal cone diecut and our "carrot" dog

As part of the celebration of National Nutrition Month (March), and since I have been seeing what sort of projects I could make with my new Stampin' Up petal cone diecut, I wanted to try making a nutritional project with it:
Here is what I made!

How do you like them carrots?!

Update on found white dog

If you read my post earlier this week on the found white dog in Glendale, AZ, he was still living alongside the house. Unfortunately he wouldn't let anyone come near him and growled - even though several attempts were made.  Maricopa County had to come and take him, and he was very growly with them too.  Sorry to be the bearer of not-so-good news, but if you wanted to know what happened to him...

I would hope that they would try to put him with the Arizona Humane Society so they could work with him, and maybe get him adopted.  He is so cute; reminds me of my sister-in-law's dog Corky - she got him from an animal shelter.

Sometimes I wish I would win a lot of $$ so I could donate some of it to places that take in rescue dogs, like they show on the TV show of Arizona Humane Society.  Here is a pic of Corky:

I swear he knew I was taking his picture and posed for me.
Look at that ear!!

In a bashful blue mood - embossed Easter card

I wanted to make an Easter card for the Sudsol Design Challenge, but haven't had much time this week to think about designing one, so I went through some swaps I had for inspiration.  I had read that the favorite color of 40% of the worldwide population was blue....and had blue on the brain!

White dog found - do you know this dog?

This cute white dog was found by our agility teacher in Glendale, AZ this weekend - as you can see, he has tags but they are gone....he is residing alongside of her house, looking for a family and howling softly - If she didn't have a sick dog, she probably would have taken him herself!....
Do you recognize him?
Or may be willing to take him in, even if his owners/family cannot?
If you want more info about him, send me an email, OK?

Thanks for any info or help you can provide - all the appropriate dog finder agencies have been notified....

Double Yoyo Fabric Flower Card - tutorials for you

I made up this double yoyo fabric flower card for some swaps, after being inspired by the yoyo flowers I saw Rhonda make at the Spring Fling last month.

I love the primary colors in this card - they are so bright and cheery.

I also wrote up a tutorial on how to make them and put together this card.  If you check my page on tutorials, you can get it there.
After you make your first one or two, they go really fast - I was making them while watching TV!

I also put pictures of the other projects I have on my tutorials page, so now you can see what the tutorial is for!  That should make it more fun and easier to view I hope.  I would love to hear what you think of my addition to the project tutorials page....
Thanks for checking out my pages!!

Vintage Playdate and Crown card

This is a card I made for a vintage challenge at Sudsol - it was somewhat of a challenge since I wanted to use the Playdate designer series paper, which is a bright colored paper....so I crumpled it and then distressed it with Stampin' Up's distressing kit.  Also I dabbed the grosgrain ribbon and taffeta ribbon in chocolate chip craft ink as well as edged the embossed tulip frame card.  The greeting was also edged with the distressing kit (mahogony) and the red behind the greeting is the reverse side of the Playdate paper - that is what is so great about Stampin' Up's reversible designer paper - if you don't like one side, just turn it over, and they all are color coordinated!

I also used the vintage trinket kit - the little button brads on the greeting.  And looped the taffeta ribbon through a filligree brad and left it so part of the ribbon formed a loop on top of the brad.  The ribbon was also used to hang the crown from - In the crown trinkets, you get 3 crowns, and one of them is flat, which I used here.

Here is a close up picture of the distressing and vintageness of my card...you can also see how I put the taffeta ribbon through the brad and didn't pull it all the way through.  Now the Playdate paper doesn't look so bright, but definitely more subdued and vintagey I think.  I am really liking this framed tulip embossing folder too!!  Vintage design can be fun to play with because you can crumple, wrinkle, tear, and dirty up your projects, and the more you do it, the better and more vintage it looks!  lol
Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday bakery simple card

I have been trying to do a weekly design card challenge on Sudsol.  I really think that designing and making cards on a regular basis has improved my cardmaking skills.  This card was for a simple card challenge so I only used one Stampin' Up stamp set (Birthday Bakery
