Paisley Petals designer series paper is awesomely elegant

For last week's SUDSOL design challenge we were to use Stampin' Up's new designer series paper, Paisley Petals.  I normally am not a "paisley" type of person, but these papers are so beautiful, I was glad to have a reason to play with them!

I had in mind the template I wanted to do and used 3 of the papers for the 3 squares of flowers and the flower on the bottom.
The square punch and scallop punch were used to strategically punch out the flowers.  The scallop square color was Night of Navy, which is also the cardstock for the card, and cherry cobbler for the second layer and seam binding ribbon ruching on the left.
The bottom flower was adhered to soft suede and the greeting was also stamped in soft suede.  I added a pearl to the ribbon and all 4 flowers - can you see the little pearls on the flowers in the squares?  They are on the bud of the flowers...

This was a cool reflection-type photo that I accidentally got of the card while it was on our cream colored kitchen counter with a desktop light!

Closeup scan of the card so you can better see the pearls and seam  binding ribbon ruching.  I really like how the white flower in the center is set off with the blue ones on either side of it.

Here are all the pattern designs you get in the Paisley Petals Designer Series paper - you will have to get this before the price increase on designer series papers this summer!  Here are a couple more cards made with this paper that is on the Stampin' Up website:

Don't forget about the special that is going on this month for the Paisley Petals paper, and the Fancy Frames stamp set.

Click on the link for the Spring is blossoming promotion info/flyer that is on the left side of my blog - and just email me if you want to take advantage of it.  Or if you just have to get the Paisley Petals and/or Fancy Frames stamp set by themselves, and I will send you a free handout with 4 projects you can make with the paper and stamps, OK?
