Stampin' Up has several glue adhesives, but most demonstrators and customers will agree that a good adhesive is necessary, and that the very best multipurpose glue is the green Tombow glue! I always have at least 2 bottles of this glue in my stash!!

Tombow multipurpose glue (item #110755) is only $4 and can be used for almost anything as it adheres to cardstock, as well as to wood, cardboard, metal and other surfaces. A little bit goes a long way, so Tombow lasts quite a while! And it has dual applicator tips in one dispenser.
Denise Foor in Bedford PA, a Stampin' Up demonstrator, feels the same way...here is a good summary from her on using Tombow glue:
1.
This is a white glue and it dries clear, and it is very strong, so
it is perfect for adhering two pieces of cardstock. If you get it on your fingers, like I do, it is easily washable with soap and water.
2.
It has both a thin end and a thick end, so it will cover both small
and large areas quickly.
3.
If allowed to dry, you can use it on an envelope. When you are
ready to seal the envelope, moisten slightly and seal.
4.
If you want to attach a rubber stamp to a wooden block, use a
heavy coat on the back of the stamp and then to the block, and let dry
completely.
5. If you are having problems getting your stamps to stick on the acrylic
blocks and they fall off when you get ready to stamp, apply a light coat of
multipurpose glue and let it dry for several hours. The stamp will remain
sticky enough to stay on the blocks for many uses.
6.
If you have a delicate detailed design to add to cardstock, using the
fine tip of the glue, lightly dot around the piece and let it slightly dry.
When partly dry add it to your cardstock. The glue will not leak out around
the edge of the piece. What else I do is put a tiny bit of Tombow on a piece of paper and then use a toothpick to pick some up and apply it.
7.
When applying vellum to a background layer, use a makeup
sponge and dab into a few drips of glue and sponge on back of vellum in places.
When you layer it on your cardstock, the glue will not show.
8.
Use to attach embellishments to cardstock.
9.
Use for scrapbooks. When attaching pictures, use dots around the
outside layers and then add to the page. It is acid free.
10.
Sponge on cardstock to add glitter in large areas. If you want a
small line of glitter, use the fine tip of the glue.
