I have always loved using diecuts; there is such a wide variety of wonderful diecuts by Stampin' Up but I don't make enough cards to use them all....but I do send out gifts in the mail and struggle with decorating them festively so the decorations don't get ruined. Well, I had an idea to use diecuts on the front of the gifts! Here is one I just did for my mother and I tried to use one that worked with the wrapping paper and the card.
The stamp set on the card is the new hostess stamp set Summer Days, along with the new Magenta Madness paper and garden green cardstock, and ornate borders diecut. The diecuts on the gift are Many Layered Blossoms diecut out of Just Jade cardstock. Here is a close-up where you can see I made a matching bow and adhered small pearls in the center of the flowers.
I also did this for a birthday gift for my youngest son (he's 27 now so not so young!) and he and his wife have a cat and a dog:
