Since Easter is only a month away, I designed 2 Easter projects that the class can make that would match each other - a card and petal cone.
I used Stampin' Up's petal cone diecut with blushing bride paper from the Patterns designer series paper stack, and decorated it with melon mambo pompom trim and SaleABration's Ice Cream Parlor designer series paper and ribbon. A scrap of contrasting paper was cut for the scallop half-circle piece for the "front" of the cone.
Class participants will now have a choice - to either make the carrot from the petal cone diecut, or a flower cone!!
Here is how I decorated the "front" of the flower cone - These are from the Quick Accents Pack in the Ice Cream Parlor set in the SaleABration mini-catalog. You just peel off what you want and stick them on! You can only get these until the end of March, so let me know if you want them because you can get them free with any $50 order, OK?
Here is the matching card to the flower cone - the Whisper white note cards were used for the card - these are a great deal to buy - you get 20 cards and envelopes for only $5.95 - really lovely soft smooth feeling cards, ready to decorate!!
The blushing bride paper was used for the first layer, which was punched on the right side with the eyelet border punch. A certainly celery layer was cut and adhered to the blushing bride - then the pink striped grosgrain ribbon was attached. Now the pink and green layers were adhered to the card.
Happy Easter was stamped (Easter Blossoms stamp set) and punched out with the decorative label punch. I edged the greeting with pink ink and added a little pearl.
A pink large-holed designer big button was threaded with a scrap of Victorian crochet trim lace (the big holes in these buttons is best for threading the lace or ribbon). The button and greeting were then glued on with dimensionals.
I added my embellished "dressed up" Easter jellybean bag to complete the Easter projects class. I will have the paper cut out to make pink, blue, or green cards along with matching big buttons. Gee, another choice the class participants will have to make! I love how the pink and celery colors are perfect for a springtime and/or Easter project.
Which would you pick to make - the carrot or the flower cone? Or is it like asking, which came first the chicken or the egg?!
