Stampin' Up card with new products

Now we start writing "2017!"  Hope you had a great holiday season and end of 2016 and ready for new items from Stampin' Up....The new Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration will be here in 2 days, so I wanted to share another card I made with new products from them!

I used a new stamp set, Chase your dreams, and new designer paper, Urban underground.  I had fun making my own designer paper using the one-sheet-wonder technique, with the new stamp set, Chase your dreams!  The One Sheet Wonder is a technique for using a single stamped sheet of card stock cut into multiple pieces to create a quick-to-make set of cards, 3-D projects or scrapbook pages (Anne Hayward).  I just put two of the photopolymer stamps really close together on an acrylic block, then stamped them on a 12 x 12 white cardstock in black ink.  You can see the rows are diagonal across the paper, first right-side up, then up-side down, until the cardstock was filled in.

I used the Gorgeous grunge stamp set to put real red dots in the white areas.  Quick and easy!  And then I cut my cards out measuring 3 x 4.  I did the same stamping with the hello, bonjour, and guten tag stamps but stamped them in real red.  The black and gray designer paper and "x's" metallic strip are from the Pop of pink papers.  The red and white diagonal strip underneath the natural trim silver ribbon and cherry cobbler baker's twine ribbon is from the new upcoming catalogs (valentine papers).  That little strip is what inspired me to use the diagonal theme throughout my card!!  This would make a perfect masculine card too, don't you think?

Here are a few more pictures of my card:

Jan. 2017 blog hop - Happy New Year!

Welcome to this month’s blog hop with Di's Country Inkers!
And Happy New Year 2017!!
Our theme is the new Stampin’ Up catalogs, Occasions and Sale-A-Bration, where you can earn free products with a $50 order!  Here are the cards that I came up with, which are calendar cards that I sent with some of my Christmas cards:

Since there were 2 colors (calypso color and Bermuda bay) to the designer paper I used (Cupcakes & Carousels), I made a few of each color.  The stamp set, High Tide, will also be in the upcoming Occasions catalog.

Here are a few more pictures of how this calendar card was put together.  I designed it so it would fit in an envelope to be mailed (needs 2 stamps).  It is based on the calendar card that I posted earlier this week.

Last of the holiday decorations & lights

Hope you have been having a great holiday season thus far, and the last of the holidays as well as the new year are just around the corner....already!  So I thought I would share the pictures of our holiday lights and decorations, with a little help from our 2 furbabies, Inu and Tootsi.  They are some of our inspiration for our outside lights.  We live in Arizona where there is no snow and we don't miss it after 40+ years on the east coast, and it definitely makes it more pleasant putting up and taking down the outside decorations!!

We have 3 large dog light up lawn ornaments as well as a new addition at the top of Snoopy.  That is our indoor tree which we decided to put outside this year....since I am a crafter, of course I don't have traditional Christmas colors - my colors are purple and blue!

Here is our decorated front gate - can you see Inu peeking through it?

Here Inu and Tootsi are standing by the lawn dog ornaments that they inspired....pretty good girls to stand still long enough for me to take several photos, and without any treats either!

Inu:

Tootsi (doesn't like that big dog next to her lol):

Here are our Aflac ducks, large and small,  that we collect every year.  We would need a couple of shelves to display them all together if we did that!

What did Santa bring you and your furbabies?!
