More cat projects...if you like cats!

MEOW!  In my posting on Aug. 1st, I mentioned that I was on a cat theme recently, so wanted to share the cat projects!  They were for my son's birthday last month - the son who is married to my daughter-in-law and who have two cats, Rascal and Skitty.  They are beautiful ragdoll cats; here is a pic of them:

If you have ever seen the Peanuts/Charlie Brown cartoon strip, the little girl with the naturally curly hair (Frieda) sometimes carries her ragdoll cat on her arm:

They both loved their cat birthday presents and cat cards.  Here are a few more pictures of my son's birthday cats projects:

I created the cat paper with Stampin's Up cat stamp set Pretty Kitty, which you can purchase in my online store.  I did a "one-sheet wonder" paper, which is one sheet of patterned, or stamped paper or card stock that is cut up and used to create a number of items. That is a piece of acetate with polka dots over the main design.  Also used was baker's twine in emerald envy.  The cats were stamped with emerald envy, crushed curry, and chocolate chip ink, on craft cardstock.

I also stamped the kitties on some brown paper for the wrapping paper.  But I forgot to take a picture of his actual birthday present, which was a cat fan in bronzed copper.

Usually I do dog related projects, since we have 2 dogs, so it was a shock to some to see me do something other than dogs!  I also put a gag/joke gift in my son's card:

He spent at least 20 minutes checking it out....it was a cut up dollar bill (or maybe more, can't remember as I got it at a craft show!).  I think for a bit he thought about taking them all out and taping them together, but not for long.  I should have got two, so I could send one to his brother on his birthday!

BTW, my first pet was a yellow long-hair tabby cat, named Muffy.  She was my sweetie for 13 yrs and I'll never forget her....it was when I had her that I found out I was allergic to cats.  But rather than give her away, I took allergy shots while I had her.  We love our furbabies, don't we....Thanks for checking out my cat projects!

August monthly blog hop - it's summer (and hOt!)

Welcome to our monthly blog hop; you should have just visited Crystal's blog and her great project - and it's August 1st already!  Since it has been over 100 degrees here in Arizona daily, I swear it has done something to my brain and July has just disappeared...

I am on a cat theme lately, so I had to include a cat with my summer themed birthday card.  It is my for daughter-in-law in N.J. and they have two beautiful cats.  I used summery colors from the Color Throwdown:  peach, blushing bride/light pink, daffodil yellow and curry, and white of course.

Makes for a bright and cheery card, and I sure had fun with the foxy friends stamp set and punch....I got so involved in making this kitty cat, that I lost all track of time!  Here are a few more pics of my card:

The Stampin' Up supplies I used are:  Fruit Stand designer paper, swirly scribbles thinlits, delicate white doily, peach ruched ribbon, happy birthday styled birthday stamp, very vanilla lace trim, wink of stella clear glitter (can you see the sparkle?)  and in color enamel heart shape.  I got my idea for the card design from Freshly Made Sketches #247  fms247 and Color Throwdown #403  ctd403.  Wow, 2 challenges - that's gotta be a first for me.  It must be the heat, ha, ha.

Come to Arizona if you want to see what it's like to be nice and hot...but first be sure to finish our blog hop!  Next up is Ellie - Enjoy, and thanks for stopping in!!

July blog hop - Red, White & Blue! Happy 4th of July

http://www.stampinonroodfarm.blogspot.com

Welcome to this month’s blog hop with Di's Country Inkers!
Our theme for this blog hop is Red, White & Blue…for the 4th of July, of course!  Wasn’t Crystal’s project awesome?!

Here is my red, white, and blue card (I really like the swirly bird diecuts and stamps – so versatile and fun!)

My sister in Mass. is getting married later this month by Scituate Lighthouse and I am flying out to the wedding.  She and her fiancee enjoy visiting various lighthouses and the maritime/nautical paraphernalia, so I thought a red, white, blue card for their wedding with the lighthouse stamp from the set From Land and Sea would be perfect!

Here are the other Stampin' Up products I used:
  • Dapper Denim ink and cardstock,
  • Cherry Cobbler ink and cardstock,
  • Serene Scenery 6 x 6 designer series paper stack,
  • Floral Phrases stamp set (wedding greeting),
  • Swirly Bird stamp set (boat and sunset),
  • Swirly Scribbles diecut (ocean waves),
  • Cherry Cobble baker's twine (bow),
  • Gold metallic twine trim, and
  • Clear and gold wink of stella to add glimmer.

Here are a few more pictures of the card so you can see the "glimmer:"

The sailboat and lighthouse were fussy cut and adhered with pop-up dimensionals. When I was taking the photos of my card, I thought all the lines reminded me of Vincent Van Gogh's picture, Starry Night.  Hope it is okay to show a little picture of that painting, but I didn't even think about it until I was taking pictures - honest!

The next blog you will hop to is Diana's, for a super awesome project!

Next up is Ellie - Enjoy her fun project and the rest of the bloggers' designs as well, and thanks for stopping by!  Hope you get to enjoy some 4th of July fireworks….since our 2 furbabies don’t like them, we will be watching them on television!!

You can purchase all of the Stampin’ Up products used in my online store.

Swap card & Paper Craft Crew card challenge #201 - a cute dog in emerald

I love all dog-related stamping items and in the current Stampin' Up catalog, there is an adorable dog stamp set called Bella & Friends.  So of course I had to use it for a stamp swap I am in...  It was hard to decide which of the dogs in this set I wanted to use!!  I am also going to post it in the Paper Craft Crew card challenge #201 which is now up:  www.papercraftcrew.com

The new Stampin' Up in color 2016-2019 are in the current catalog and the Emerald Envy is gorgeous (love that name) which I used for my card...There are also matching accessories that I had to take advantage of--the emerald envy enamel shapes (the dog's collar), in color doilies (I used the reverse side of the green doily), designer series pack, and baker's twice.  These items are shown below and you can buy all of these products in my online store.

I also used one of the new designer series papers - Moroccan - Stampin' Up's designer papers are all reversible, which makes them really versatile.

Other supplies I used are early expresso and crumb cake ink, emerald envy marker, blender pen to color the dog, and the blossom bunch punch.  In hindsight, I should have used watercolor paper, as it is much better if you are going to do any watercoloring.  But when I made up my card, I wasn't sure how or if I would be coloring the dog!  Here are a few more pictures of the card:

I wonder who I will send this card to?
