Welcome to the July
2018 blog hop with Di's Country Inkers!
Our theme this month is red, white, and blue – of course to celebrate 4th
of July! Here is my project for the blog
hop:
I had so much fun
with the large letter framelits diecuts and wanted to use them again, and decided to
spell out my son’s name for an “eclipse” birthday card for him this month. An eclipse card is where you pop up the die cut letters/image by adding dimensional
pop-up dots to the back of the letters and applying the letters over the cut
out openings. The trick is to make sure you measure and cut accurately
and use thick foam adhesive under the letters – the Stampin’ Up dimensionals
are perfect for this! Or you could use
the foam adhesive strips. I think this
technique was also called “shadowing.”
Here are a few
closeups and other angles of my card:
These are the Stampin’ Up products I used for my card:
Large letters framelits
Blueberry bushel inkpad, cardstock, and 6 x 6 designer paper
(this is one of the current new In colors)
Poppy parade cardstock and 6 x 6 designer paper (in the
brights color pad)
Silver metallic thread
Polka dot tulle ribbon (I dyed it with the blueberry inkpad –
it was very messy and I had blue fingers for quite a while so will probably
wear gloves next time; the inkpad was brand-new and very juicy!)
Metallic pearls in silver
Pop up dimensionals (cut in half to fit the letters as
needed)
You can get all of these Stampin’ Up products in my
online store: http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/marynoble/
