Hope you all had a great week and were able to join the Sudsol blog tour! And many, many thanks to all your comments, feedback, and questions!!
I will be posting the results of the blog candy drawing this weekend - am enjoying reading all your emails!
The card that was most requested for more info on was my trifold flip card, shown above. I checked around for a tutorial on it, since I knew I had seen one before.
It seems that this card goes by several different names: fancy fold, trifold, flip card, flipflop card, swing card, swing flipflop card....
The Stampin' Up supplies I used were: The Open Sea stamp set, Nautical Expedition DSP, soft suede cardstock, crumbcake cardstock, cherry cobblercardstock, early expresso cardstock, baker's twine, vintage brad, soft suede ink, stazon inkpad and white pigment inkpad.
The ship was stamped on crumbcake cardstock with stazon ink and then I used a blender pen to pick up the white pigment ink and very lightly colored in the sails and highlights. The areas that I wanted to stand out more I went back and applied more white ink with the blender pen. This is very similar to the sepia card technique.
The Nautical Expedition DSP was adhered onto the right side of the card after it was folded - can you see how I had the stripes run both horizontal and vertical? I used soft suede ink to stamp the anchors on the left side soft suede cardstock, and also used it to distress the edges of the crumbcake and cherry cobbler, as well as the actual card.
The baker's twine was wrapped around the left side of the card 3 times and tied (after the opening was cut for the ship picture). I used dimensionals to adhere the ship to the card.
There is a tutorial for the swing flipflop card and a template to cut it out by Beate Johns on Splitcoast Stampers at
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/swing_flip_flop_card/
The antique brad was attached to the cherry cobbler before layering to the early expresso cardstock. If you have any questions, please send me an email...
If you entered my blog candy drawing, be sure to check back this weekend to find out who the lucky winner of the beveled windowpane pin is, OK? Thanks for stopping in!!
