Occasions and Sale-a-Bration blog hop and Happy New Year

Happy New year and welcome to Di's Country Inkers' Occasions and Sale-a-Bration blog hop with Stampin' Up!  Since these catalogs come out this week, we wanted to share a few items we made with some of the awesome items in them...If you have just come from Crystal's blog, I'm sure you were thrilled with her project!

Here is the card I made for this blog hop:

Since I had a family emergency and had to make a last-minute flight to Boston (my father passed away while I was here but I did get to "see" him one last time), I knew I wasn't going to bring all my crafting stuff in my suitcase, since there are restrictions and fees on luggage.  So I had already decided to make my card digitally with Stampin' Up's My Digital Studio - it is an excellent tool to have when you need something fast and convenient.

I purchased a few new digital images and instantly had them to use for my card, and designed a card design challenge #125 from Paper Craft Crew - it doesn't get any easier than this if you have My Digital Studio and somewhat familiar with using a computer!!  You can't get the duck, happy birthday to you, or lacy background yet, but you can when the new Stampin' Up Occasions catalog comes out on January 6th.  You can get a free trial of My Digital Studio with preloaded images ready to use in my online store...

Digital downloads I purchased to immediately use:

candid frames
starburst punch

Thanks for stopping in and you can continue your blog hop journey with the ever amazing and awesome Diana Gibbs - she really is quite awesome and so are the rest of the creations and projects in this January blog hop --  what a great way to start the new year!  Have a fresh new year!!

  5. Mary, condolences on the passing of your father.

I really like your card and would love to recreate it in MDS but I can't find the duck, happy birthday or lacy background in the downloads list. Could you provide the items numbers? Thanks so much.

    1. Hi Marjorie, These images haven't been released as MDS digital downloads yet; I just copied them and saved them as .jpg images; then inserted them as a picture in MDS! You can then change the size, color them, etc. in MDS....hope this helps. Thanks for your comment!

  6. Thanks so much Mary - after thinking on it for a bit and realizing that these images were not in the release of MDS downloads on the first Tuesday of January that they were not downloads that you must have stamped, copied and added them in photo boxes. Very clever of you - I have never thought of doing that with stamped images but now I will. Have a great day.
