A "blue" card - Oh Whale

Thought I would share the card using blue that I made - it was for a card challenge but I liked it so much that I decided I wanted to have my monthly cardmaking class make one too.  I have to admit when I first saw the Oh Whale stamp set that was in the latest Stampin Up spring catalog, I wasn't too crazy about it, but thought the little framelit that matched it was cute. When I saw this card that I case from Penny Smiley (gotta love that name) that's what made me decide I had to get it!  I did add some embellishments  - which are the new blue ribbon in the spring catalog, and one of the greetings that come with the whale stamp set, Get Whale Soon.  And the top card layer was made using textured cardstock. The little pins are always great to attach a greeting!

See the little clothespin doll to the right?  That was made for a school project by my nephew, Craigie, and he based it on our family history.  She is suppose to be one of my grandmothers and we have been passing her around to visit the rest of the family - she started in Mass. and made the rounds there, then I was the lucky family member to get her next from my sister!

My grandmother doll Evelyn told me she sure was glad to come out to Arizona where the weather is warm and sunny - and she wasn't in that huge snow storm they are having on the east coast now!  Since I have several family on the east coast, I worry how they are doing in the storm.  One of my nephews always seems to lose electricity right off when they get storms out there as he is in the Scituate area...Hope they have a fireplace to keep warm along with their furbabies - they are expecting their first baby later this year!

Wouldn't this card be super cute in different colors?!
