Card sketch #30 Stampin Queens

This week card sketch challenge #30 started on Wednesday over at Stampin Queens!  Here is the card sketch.  I used the digital cardmaking/scrapbooking software program by Stampin Up called My Digital Studio to design my card.  I made a monochromatic themed card in purples and since I couldn't decide which pretty border I wanted to use, I used them all!

There were lots of beautiful variations in the cards that the design team came up with! Take a look here or you can view them at the website for the Stampin Queens card sketches at http://gettincrafty.typepad.com/stampin_queens_sketch_cha/2012/03/sqsc-30.html

My card I just made with My Digital Studio
Today I had lots of fun doing an online virtual stamping group with 6 other demonstrators, and have only met one of them in real life!  This is the card I made in this group using the digital stamping software My Digital Studio.
This online event was called "Chat & Challenge" and if you join my group as a Stampin Up demonstrator, you would be able to do events like this too!  This is one of the benefits a demonstrator gets when she joins SUDSOL - Simply Unique Demonstrators Sharing On Line.  You even get a trial membership to see if you like it, which is what I did.  Click on the SUDSOL link at the bottom of  my blog to see what I mean...
Here is the card sketch design we were given in advance to use:

At the time to join the chat, we hopped on and talked about stuff just like you would if you got together with some other stamping friends - kids, dogs, weather, what's on tv, the new Stampin Up products....And here are what the other ladies came up with!

How easy and convenient this was – then it was back to getting dinner ready, eating dinner, watching the game on tv, and some of the ladies were going to get ready for bed, depending on what time zone they were in…

Why would you want to join my team with Stampin Up? I really like getting the discounts, and advance purchases of upcoming products! You can make it as convenient at the virtual stamping group I just did today if you choose to join and do digital stamping - it can be instant and quick!

I bet you have lots of great pictures on your computer or flashdrive that are just begging to be used! Here is your chance to do that!! If you use your laptop/computer for managing and editing your pictures, you have what it takes to do the digital stamping software program that Stampin Up has - My Digital Studio.

It really is that easy.

And to make it even easier, you can try a free month-long trial of My Digital Studio...Did you hear me right? Yes, F R E E.

Click on this link and check it out OK? Don't let your pix sit around waiting to be used on your computer, laptop, or flashdrive any longer! You will be sooo glad you tried My Digital Studio - I know I was :-)

Swap cards received - Stampin Up products

My online Stampin Up store
Free tutorial of the Project of the Week
Special deal of the week - Free Card with purchase

Today I'm sharing some of the swap cards I received at the Spring Fling last month.
The cards above are by Anne LaPerre and Anne Howe.
They use the Delicate doily stamp set.

These two flower cards are by Debbie Grayson and Connie.
They use the Mixed Bunch stamp set and matching Blossom punch, as well as Mocha Morning designer paper and Domestic Goddess designer paper.

The umbrella card is from Donna Pratt (Rue de Fleur stamp set and Attic Boutique designer paper), and the gorgeous purple card below is by Marlene Salvato (Bordering on Romance stamp set, Adorning Accents Edgelits diecut, and Paper Doily sizzlits diecut).

One of the ladies also share the teabox that she covered and decorated, along with the cute matching card - This designer paper can be earned for free in the Saleabrations catalog until March 31 and is called Everyday Enchantment - there is also an assortment of brads and ribbons that match and can be earned free!!

You can recycle boxes and pretty them up, then make a matching card, and be environmentally friendly! I am always finding cute boxes that I want to keep and have handy for things like this...So now I'm getting quite a stash of them lol. You can also take them apart and use them for a template and make your own out of Stampin Up's high-quality cardstock!

My new Stampin Up store!! Free card 4U

GREAT NEWS!!   I now have my own online store with Stampin Up items!!
Since the Saleabrations catalog ends March 31, you still have a couple weeks to buy $50 of items from the Stampin Up catalogs and get your choice of any items in the Saleabrations catalog! Here is the link to my store, as well as a new Stampin Up only blog on it.
Sure appreciate you checking it out!!

On the blog at this site I have posted a detailed tutorial on making a card using all Stampin Up products - if you purchase at least 4 of the products* used to make this card, I will send you one of these cards for your very own that you can use to make them!

*Stampin Up products used:
Whispering white cardstock
Pool party cardstock
Pool party inkpad
Island indigo inkpad
White waffle paper
Jumbo pearl
Pool party seam binding ribbon
Boho flowers punch
Apothecary Art stamp set
Labels framelits
Embosslits

Last week I met with our community's stamping group to make 3 cards I had designed.  I used mostly new Stampin Up items, but also a few retired products, such as the rose and guava cardstock, as well as the brilliant blue, blue border, and chandelier stamp.

I used the white heavy backing paper that comes with some of Stampin Up's designer paper packs for the cardstock with the blue chandelier.  Since it was slightly glossy, we heat dried the ink so it wouldn't smudge.  In order to get the border so it was straight we practiced on scrap paper first, but even then we had some booboos lol.  This was a simple one-layer card, and getting the images on just right took some practice, but it was worth it.

This card was made from retired Stampin Up cardstock, groovy guava - it sure is a pretty color and what I noticed about Stampin Up's retired colors is that they still look great with the new colors!  The current Stampin Up products on this card are the mixed punch flower and punch, the apothecary art stamp and framelit behind it, the white waffle paper, the peach parfait polyester ribbon, the Happiest stamp and the hearts embosslits on the left side.  This card is a CASE from one of my cards that I posted about previously, which was my swap card at the Spring Fling stamping event last month:

These ladies are really good at stamping and quick at putting cards together.
They are fun to work with too (I mean play!)

This card was a CASE from a card swap I received from Donna Pratt at the Spring Fling stamping event I went to last month.  I just loved her card, which uses the umbrella from the Rue de Fleur stamp set.  Here is a picture of her card - you can see how it inspired my card.
I used the new pleated satin ribbon in real red on my card and the edgelits scallop diecut
(it cut through both layers of the cardstock!) while the designer paper is from a retired Stampin Up set.

Stop by my new store and get free items from the Saleabrations catalog before the end of the month, OK?

Shop at my store any time, any day, at your convenience!
