Shabby chic red and plum gift tags - more details

This week I made 7 gift tags for a swap (got some ideas on putting these together from the Sept. to Remember event in AZ recently where we made a whole box of gorgeous vintage tags) - although all the tags I made were similar, there were some slight variations between each one - because I had a hard time just choosing which of the pretty hearts I wanted to put on them lol.  You can see the differences in the 3 tags
pictured below:

There was little stamping involved,
and if you didn't want to put the tiny tag on, there was no stamping at all - you could use the vintage tags instead..

The Stampin' Up products I used to make these tags were:

Eyelet border
Heart to heart xlarge punch
Bigz 2 tags diecut (emboss before cutting diecut tag)
Vintage wallpaper embossing folder
Perfect polka dots embossing folder
Perfect plum inkpad and cardstock
Cherry cobbler inkpad and cardstock
Craft inkpad (to dab hearts on)
Whisper white cardstock (emboss with polka dots & edged/dab in cherry)
Crochet lace
Cherry ribbon seam binding
Pearls

The Stampin' Up products I used for the optional tiny tag (it was stamped) were:

Glossy white cardstock
Tiny tags stamp set
Tiny tag punch

I used white crochet thread (non-Stampin' Up) for the tag but you could use Stampin' Up's linen thread

This would be a great project for a new/beginner stamper - and you can easily change the heart punches and colors for another occasion.  Course I had to get some purple in there as it is my favorite color....and although I wasn't sure how I liked the cherry cobbler, now it is also one of my favorite colors!  With the Bigz 2 tags diecut, you get 2 tags when you cut it out, so I have 8 more pretty tags to play with!

So did you get any Black Friday shopping done?  Or better yet, get to eat some yummy Thanksgiving leftovers!!

  2. I have to tell you that I have reused your beautiful tag & transformed it into a Valentine card for my friend who I instantly thought of when you sent this out as a swap. You get all the credit of course, but again TFS!!!!
